Smart ways to give your kids their veggies

Make the shake part of your kids morning routine

No matter how hard we try as parents, the fact remains - some kids just don’t like to eat vegetables. But that doesn’t mean we should give up trying.

It can be challenging, but eating vegetables gives your kids the energy and nutrition they need to grow up happily and healthily.

So if you, like so many other parents, have trouble getting your kids to eat their veggies, here are some of our best tips to make veggies fun!

Make veggie fries:

Kids love fries, so take the inspiration!

Cut veggies like carrot, capsicum and sweet potato into fries. Mix together in a bowl with a little bit of oil, some breadcrumbs and grated parmesan cheese. Bake them in the over and serve them in a cup… Yum!

Disguise them:

The easy way to add veggies to their diet is mixing them into flavourful foods.

Add vegetables to a beef stew, for example, or mash carrots up with mashed potato, or add a sweet dip to slices of apple. My favourite is to mix in grated vegetables like carrot and zucchini to spaghetti bolognese! Not only can you not taste it, but you can’t see it either.

Dip them:

Turning veggies into dipping sticks is another great way to make veggies fun.

Cut veggies like carrot and capsicum into sticks and serve them with dips like hummus or avocado. You can even make your own veggie dip!

Drink them up:

Smoothies are a great way to give your kids veggies without eating them.

You can blend veggies like sweet potato, spinach, and avocado into their Kids Breakfast Shake and it’ll still have the great taste they love.
